Hi, I’m Claire

and I am ecstatic to share my love of art with you!

Claire Pongonis studio began as a dream on the banks of Lake Como in 2018. At that point, it was nothing more than a whisper of “what if I made art full time” and a few commissioned pieces under my belt as proof of concept.

In April 2021, the studio became a reality. Since its inception, CP Studio has gone from offering only commissioned pet portraits to now offering original works on paper and embroidered thread paintings, a range of custom artwork options, fine art products, custom design, and educational opportunities.

I am incredibly passionate about helping people recognize and celebrate loved ones and favorite places through art. I’m constantly inspired by your stories and memories and my own experiences through travel and nature.

I’ve been making and enjoying art for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a home that encouraged creative expression and understanding through visual arts, music, theatre, dance, and writing. My attention from a young age fell to visual art and fiber-based crafts - painting, drawing, and sculpting in my downtime and falling in love with sewing, knitting, and crocheting (thanks to my grandmas).

You could even say I was destined to be a creative business owner - starting my first venture at age 10, where I created woven jewelry out of 6-strand cotton embroidery floss - the same type of floss I use in thread paintings today!

My formal education has always been focused on the arts, culminating in a degree in Fine Art and Illustration. Throughout high school and university, I began combining my love of art with an equally deep love of travel. Living abroad near Florence after graduating high school, studying oil pastels and plain air sketching in Berlin, and traveling throughout Europe to renowned arts institutions.

After school, my path back to daily creative expression was winding (with twists and turns that include: installing artwork in a major art museum, driving 50ft motor coaches throughout Alaska, managing accounts and branding at an engineering firm), but I made it back!

FROM THE STUDIO

inspired originals

The original work that comes out of the studio are little love letters to the places I’ve traveled and the vibrant colors of nature. These pieces typically take the form of oil pastels on paper or embroidered thread paintings on stretched tulle, but I love to explore and push the boundaries of my own creative expression.

custom artwork

I love hearing your stories and helping you to bring your memories to life through art. There is something deeply personal that is evoked through a piece of custom artwork, which can be lost in words or a photograph. In all my work, I utilize color, texture, and movement to celebrate your memories.

quality products

I have always believed that artwork should be accessible, shared, and enjoyed. Fine art products from the studio are the high quality you expect from me without the cost limitations that can come with original artwork. I offer printed reproductions of select work, art cards, stationery, and other quality products.
